Students may compete in JACC contests as many times as they want while they are students at JACC member schools.

However, once they win a first-through-fourth place award or Meritorious award --whether at a statewide convention or a regional conference, mail-in or on-the-spot/bring-in -- they may compete in that class of contests for only the next two years (statewide or regional). The clock starts ticking with the win and runs through the next equivalent conference/convention in two years.

JACC recognizes four classes of categories:

  • Writing/Editing
  • Photography
  • Design
  • Broadcast/New Media

Students who become ineligible in one class may continue to compete in other classes as long as they are eligible in those classes.
